Position Title: Application Support Lead
Reports To: VP Global IT

Overview of Position: The Application Support Lead will work closely with the extended IT team to support all key application systems, with a concentrated focus on core financial and ERP systems, for corporate as well as all Phoenix sites in the US, EMEA, and Brazil.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintaining and improving the performance and scalability of production application systems
• Plan and execute application upgrades
• Ensuring application SLAs are consistently met and peak support times are covered
• Performing deep dives on data for analysis, investigation, and root cause analysis
• Producing and maintaining documentation of processes, SLAs, workflows, and settings
• Managing vendor relationships associated with supporting the applications
• Strategic analysis and conditioning of application data
• Working with key teams and stakeholders to seamlessly introduce new capabilities and processes into the application environment
• Coordinating the application release process, including risk analysis, configuration changes, and evaluation of results
• Assisting with planning and roll-out of a production application dashboard
• Monitoring and capacity planning around production systems
• Participating in application-specific disaster recovery planning and exercises
• Assures ongoing compliance with personal data protection regulations as it relates to the application systems
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Core Requirements:
• Strong data analysis skills
• SQL proficiency, especially in Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Familiarity with SQL concepts such as indexes, keys, joins, cursors, and index fragmentation
• Microsoft Office experience, particularly strong with Excel (VBA/reporting)
• Familiarity with data warehouse or business intelligence reporting systems
• Experience working with large, dispersed data sets and identifying data’s source of truth
• Running application related projects to completion
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Desirable to have experience with Sage or OneStream or similar financial ERP systems
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
• Training end users on process and application-related changes

Desirable Requirements:
• Experience with Sage or OneStream or similar financial ERP systems
• Experience in an industrial application support role
• Database administration experience (backups, restores, etc.)
• Experience with cloud (preferably Azure) application, data, and reporting capabilities
• Strong Reporting skills
• Business analysis experience
• Experience with ETL or data integration products
• SSIS and SSRS experience

Work Environment:
This job operates in a high-tech and fast-evolving environment.
The job supports manufacturing sites in the metal industry that have unique physical environments and locations.
Travel will be required or otherwise beneficial at times, must be comfortable with working at site environments.

Physical Demands:
Application Support is a key function within the organization and can be stressful at times. The role will require someone who can make themselves available at odd and off-hours to support key production application systems. Outages or downtime have wide-ranging impacts to the business and require someone who can focus and execute well under those potentially stressful conditions.

Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree or 5 year’s equivalent experience working in an application support role
