Metallic Recovery
Phoenix processing plants have the highest metallic recovery rates in the industry for both stainless and carbon mills. Our plants utilize state-of-the-art magnetic separation equipment to maximize the recovery of metallics from the raw slag. This advanced metallic recovery allows for the recovery of virtually all residual metallics from the slag, maximizing recovered iron units. The processing plants include the latest technology in screen design to cleanly separate the slag and scrap into different sized fractions depending on customer specifications and market demand.
Dropballing
We utilize state-of-the-art cranes to dropball oversized metallics, sizing them to customer specifications and downstream needs.
Scrap Cutting
We provide torches and lances to cut and burn scrap metal, whether generated internally or from the outside market. Our cutting meets environmental specifications and is performed under roof or baghouse if required. We also provide oxycutting machines upon request.
Scrap Cleaning
Cleaning, polishing, and then using outside scrap for use reduces melting costs and energy needs. The cost to clean scrap is less than the cost to melt scrap containing unwanted materials and can be necessary in regions that cannot access higher quality material.
Scrap Upgrading
We reprocess reclaimed B- and C- scrap metallics to raise their iron (Fe) content. This allows for internal reuse of metallics that may generally not meet minimum melting requirements, further reducing operational costs.
Scrap Shearing
Whether generated internally or from the outside market, we provide and operate mobile and fixed shears to cut scrap as determined by the type and quantity of the material.
Scrap Baling
Similar to our scrap cleaning services, we can provide and operate a bailer, to convert lower density scrap to higher density, allowing for the use of lower grade scrap – providing a cheaper and more readily available material.
